'Dear Vincent' - Exclusive Sketch of the Week - Posca Pens On Wood Panel
'Dear Vincent' is a very important piece of art to me, not so much because I am a great fan of Vincent Van Gogh, but because I produced it during a time when I started working with negative in my work. It was around the same time I worked on my long series 'Into the Dark and Under the Light of the Trojan Moon' (Watch here). A rather significant time during my career, as it has been very much embedded in my work ever since. As far as the title, it is a combination of the pose of this alternative stylized self-portrait, reminding of a self-portrait of Vincent Gogh as well as the copy-portrait of Vincent Gogh, done by living artist, Ross Muir.
So, I named it 'Dear Vincent'
